Cold soaked for 36 hours on skins and basket pressed directly to neutral French oak barrels. Fermented with native yeast, no malolactic fermentation.
Aromas show bright red fruit, raspberry, watermelon and red cherries with hints of spice. The palate opens round and supple but is juicy and concentrated through the mid-palate with great texture. Dry and savory finish. Extra smash-able.
Sonder Wines: Small batch, lo-fi wines from Washington State.
How small? Like, really small. Riley makes fewer than 200 cases per label.
What does 'lo-fi' mean anyway? Minimal intervention between vintage and table. Low alcohol, easy drinking, minimal oak, native yeasts, little or no sulfur.
Why should you love it? One word, authenticity. Sonder takes you to specific place at a specific time in a deliciously authentic, unadulterated way. THAT is cool.
Where in Washington State? Yakima Valley AVA. The wines are from single sites. Either Sugarloaf Vineyard in the western most section of the Rattlesnake Hills or Marcela Vineyard near Zillah, WA.
