This bourgogne rouge hails from a single lieu-dit bordering the village of Monthélie. The vines average 55 years in age and are planted on limestone, marl, and clay soils at 150-200 masl. This Pinot Noir matured for 15 months in three year old French oak. Notes of strawberries, cherries, and raspberry. Medium-bodied with supple tannins and a long, smooth finish.
This small family-owned domaine has been around for two centuries, currently in its 6th generation with David Dubuet at the helm. Located in Monthélie neighboring famous such as Volnay and Meursault, their 8 hectares are spread across Beaune, Meursault, Auxey-Duresses, Savigny-Les-Beaune, and Pernand-Vergelesses. The domaine practices "lutte raisonnée" in the vineyards without the use of pesticides or
herbicides. The production of pinot noir and chardonnay is primarily bottled in single cuvées from lieux-dits and premier crus.
