Unknown quantities of Grenache, Cinsault, Counoise, Mourvedre and Viognier were all picked at the same time and fermented in the same vessel for the 2019 vintage. Picked early, pressed early and aged for 5 months in neutral French puncheons.
Aromas of watermelon and strawberry with a hint of raspberry liqueur and spice. Palate is concentrated, driven by floral, strawberry and herbal notes. Finishes with a hint of minerality.
Sonder Wines: Small batch, lo-fi wines from Washington State.
How small? Like, really small. Riley makes fewer than 200 cases per label.
What does 'lo-fi' mean anyway? Minimal intervention between vintage and table. Low alcohol, easy drinking, minimal oak, native yeasts, little or no sulfur.
Why should you love it? One word, authenticity. Sonder takes you to specific place at a specific time in a deliciously authentic, unadulterated way. THAT is cool.
Where in Washington State? Yakima Valley AVA. The wines are from single sites. Either Sugarloaf Vineyard in the western most section of the Rattlesnake Hills or Marcela Vineyard near Zillah, WA.
