We're thrilled to announce a new project (first releases are summer 2020) from the sons of Virginia Winemaking legend Gabriele Rausse, Vino dal Bosco. Tim and Peter Rausse are spearheading this project using some of their family's unique plantings (Chasseles, anyone?) and the fruit from some of their favorite vineyards to make low-intervention, low sulfur wines from young vines, meant to be drunk young -- within a year of harvest.
Here we have their 2019 Merlot! From Redland Vineyard, the merlot was sorted, destemmed & gently crushed and fermented in a small stainless steel vat with a combination of punch-downs and pump-overs. Pressed with vertical press, and full natural malo. Sterile filtration before hand bottling.
It is a bright and cheerful summer red. (So glad you asked: yes, it is chill-able.) A touch of funk supports a ton of great fruit ... don't miss some full-on natural wine from the wilds of Virginia.
